Ankle exercise with elastic band

Do you have pain in your ankle when walking down the stairs?
This may be caused by a mobility problem in the tibio-talar joint. Here is a mobility exercise demonstrated by our physiotherapist Arianne Antonitti. The purpose of this exercise is to increase joint amplitude while decreasing the pain felt at the end of the movement.
Tie a rubber band around the base of your ankle that pulls directly behind you. As you put tension on your rubber band, keep your heel on the ground and move your knee forward. Stop before pain and repeat 10x.

For more information, please contact us in clinic to make an appointment with our physiotherapists. It will be our pleasure to help you!
