McKenzie Approach
McKenzie Approach
The McKenzie Method is not merely extension exercises. In its truest sense, McKenzie is a comprehensive approach to the spine based on sound principles and fundamentals that when understood and followed accordingly are very successful.
It's an active method that emphasizes patient education and the importance of patient participation in recovery. The aim is to help patients learn how to manage and reduce their pain rapidly, to self-treat and thus reduce the risk of recurrence.
This way of assessing and treating spinal injuries in physiotherapy is an internationally recognized approach. Numerous scientific studies have proven its effectiveness. It is particularly effective in the treatment of herniated discs. It is also used for joint problems.
