Having previously been on multiple sports teams and having an interested in working with athletes, Hong first graduated with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from McGill University in 2014. During the program, Hong had the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele, each with specific needs, which allowed him to discover his passion for the anatomy and mechanics of the human body.

These experiences led him to pursue studies in physical therapy at McGill University where he obtained his master's degree in 2021. During his studies, Hong had the opportunity to meet a diverse patient population in orthopedics, geriatrics, neurology, etc. He was also a student therapist for the McGill University men's basketball team for 2 years.

His master's project focused on the development of a virtual reality-based tool to assess vertigo in patients with chronic vestibular dysfunction. The paper is expected to be published in the Journal of Neurologic Physical Therapy (JNPT).

In his free time, Hong likes to run, play basketball, and snowboard. Aside from his active lifestyle, he also enjoys painting, reading, and watching movies.
