Eric-Olivier Sirois Physiotherapist
I'm available at this clinic: Montreal - Downtown
What Éric-Olivier loves most about physical therapy is his ability to have the chance to truly learn about his patient beyond the body mechanics. Getting to know patients allows him to better tailor his approach to procure the best treatment for their specific and unique needs.
Éric-Olivier has a true passion for sports. He played at an elite level for over a decade in hockey and soccer. He has now recently made the switch toward competitive powerlifting in which he is looking forward to competing in the coming years. Training for over 12 years in the gym with a personal trainer and being himself a personal trainer allowed him to build a strong knowledge on exercise prescription for the general population as well as for improved athletic performances.
Éric-Olivier is a strong advocate of the principle that physical exercise is often the best medicine. He considers physical therapy with collaboration in mind; the physiotherapist’s role as that of a guide to a patient involved in his own well-being. Hence, his treatments encourage the empowerment and self-efficacy of his patients.
To that end, he favors a therapeutic style rooted in the McKenzie approach to diagnostic and prioritizes patient education and active forms of treatment. Such an approach usually minimizes the number of treatments necessary by giving the keys of well-being in the hands of the patient.
Eric-Olivier is also the physiotherapist for the Australian National Short Track Speed Skating Team. He has followed the team at 5 World Cups this season.
In his free time, Éric-Olivier enjoys reading, writing articles, and going canoe-camping and playing hockey.
