Iva earned her osteopathy degree from
the Centre Ostéopathique du Québec in 2024 and graduated from McGill
University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2018. Throughout her
osteopathic studies she worked as a kinesiologist with young tennis athletes
and as an osteopathic intern.
A former athlete, Iva has always been
passionate about sports which lead her to study kinesiology. Her curiosity
about the human body paired with her willingness to help others prompted her
to pursue her studies in osteopathy. The holistic approach of osteopathy
grounded in the relationship between the structure and function of the body
is what sparked her passion for this form of manual therapy. Her treatment
approach focuses on finding the root cause of her patients’ problem that can
often be masked by the body’s innate ability to compensate pain. She uses
joint normalizations, muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, cranial
therapy and visceral therapy to help get your body to equilibrium and manage
pains.
Iva takes a high interest in peri-natal
osteopathy as well. Pregnant women can benefit from osteopathic treatments to
help with postural changes throughout pregnancy and assist post-partum
recovery. Toddlers and children can also greatly benefit from pediatric
osteopathy which uses gentle soft tissue manipulations to balance the
musculoskeletal system and optimize development and growth. Pediatric
osteopathy can also help newborns with feeding difficulties from poor jaw and
neck mobility, recurring ear infections from poor drainage of the Eustachian
tubes, torticollis, plagiocephaly and many more conditions.
Iva is passionate about any form of
physical activity, especially weight training. She has strong interests in
leading a healthy lifestyle and learning about wellness, nutrition, and
mindfulness. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, and
she loves to escape and travel
