Karine Sauvé Kinesiologist

Biography

Since a young age, Karine has been passionate about physical activity. Indeed, she has practiced various sports including soccer, strength training, and climbing, which she particularly enjoys. Additionally, she has engaged in alpine skiing/cross-country skiing, hiking, paddle boarding, and a variety of other activities.

During her adolescence, even before knowing she wanted to become a kinesiologist, she taught soccer and various exercises to children aged 4 to 6 to develop their motor skills. Thus, when it came time to enroll in university, the path was already set before her.

She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2018 from the University of Sherbrooke. Her journey allowed her to develop her interest in health through physical activity and lifestyle management. In order to further develop her skills in musculoskeletal issues, she chose to pursue a specialization diploma in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and manual therapy, allowing her to deepen her understanding of various pathologies.

This postgraduate university training enabled her to detect postural abnormalities, movement limitations, and muscular contractures in order to determine the source of the issue. She uses manual therapy to treat muscle tension through massage and various techniques such as tension release, mobilizations, and trigger point therapy while respecting the body's natural range of motion (no manipulation used), with the goal of restoring functional autonomy and promoting patient awareness and reaction.

Karine has worked with various client populations including individuals aged 50 and older with or without specific issues, individuals with heart conditions, Parkinson's disease, various pains, as well as with individuals aiming for fitness goals or weight loss. Always seeking new challenges, she chose to start working for Action Sport Physio in 2024 to work with patients experiencing pain or issues impacting their daily lives.
