Filip graduated from McGill University in 2017, completing his Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. Since graduating, Filip has been employed at the Richardson rehabilitation hospital, where he helps adults get stronger and return home following various medical complications including strokes, fractures, bone replacements, brain tumor resections and many more.
During his studies at McGill, Filip completed four clinical placements working with orthopedic, neurological, pediatric and geriatric populations across various hospitals and clinics, including one on the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania. He also volunteered as a student athletic therapist for the McGill Lacrosse Varsity team, where he provided emergency on-field assistance to injured players and helped athletes getting ready to play through exercises, taping techniques and massages.
Filip is certified in general first aid response and CPR level C. He is also currently taking a course to assess and adapt computer work stations to promote healthy body positioning and prevent musculoskeletal complications.
Filip is a sports enthusiast, having played competitive hockey, soccer and lacrosse in Montreal starting at the age of 5. He remains very active, as he continues to play hockey and soccer, works out several times a week, and regularly participates in hot yoga classes.
