Kayla Monaco obtained her Master’s in Physiotherapy at McGill University in 2021, after completing her undergraduate degree at Concordia University in Athletic Therapy becoming a Certified Athletic Therapist.
As an athletic therapist, she has acquired a lot of on-field experience dealing with various sports related injuries and following them through to off-field therapy in the clinic. She interned with various sports teams at both the community and University levels, as well as private clinics. As a former athlete herself, she related to many of the situations presented in front of her. During the course of her undergraduate studies and from personal experience, she realized she wanted to acquire more knowledge to better serve the general population and those around her. Through McGill’s Physiotherapy program, she had the opportunity to gain experience with a variety of populations, including those with cardiorespiratory conditions, neurological conditions, and those in post-operative general and orthopaedic surgery. The knowledge she has acquired during her studies at McGill has provided her with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the human body, and for the vastness of the career she has chosen as a physiotherapist.Kayla believes in a whole person collaborative approach and finding balance between your everyday demands and recovery. When she’s not working you will most likely find her baking, keeping active, or hosting a dinner party with friends and family.
