Biography

Jean-Francois graduated from Université de Montréal as a physiotherapist in 1997, after obtaining a major in physical activity. He then had 2 professional dreams : To one day have his own multidisciplinary sports medicine clinic and live the Olympic dream.  These objectives influenced his professional path.  He completed numerous post-graduate courses in manual therapy, dry needling, muscle control, to name a few.  He acted as senior physiotherapist at the International HeadQuarters of Cirque du Soleil from 1998 to 2007 where he built a solid experience in sports medicine applied to artistic and acrobatic sports.  He was also a sports traumatology teacher at the National Circus School in Montreal for 10 years where he still teaches the injury prevention module of the Circus coaching certification.

Jean-Francois founded Action Sport Physio Repentigny in 2007 and saw it grow over the years to a multidiscplinary clinic with more than 30 employees.  His entreprenarial skills earned him numerous nominations and prizes such as the Distinction prize of the Repentigny Chamber of Commerce.  He is also co-owner of the Action Sport Physio Mascouche clinic who has great potential in the Lanaudière region.

JF made his way in the Canadian sport system, creating the Integrated Support Team for Gymnastics Canada and acting as head physiotherapist for more than 10 years.  This role had him travel all continents and participate in 8 world championships, 2 commonwealth games, 2 panamerican games and enabled him to live his Olympic dream in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020(21).  He is the co-founder of the International Association of Gymnastics Medicine and Science along with his colleagues from Great Britain, USA and Australia.  He also acted as medical director for the 2017 Montreal World Gymnastics Championships. 

JF was an athlete himself in Rowing, he was Canadian champion in 1993.  He then continued his sports journey with running and triathlons, he participated in numerous events and half Ironmans. He takes most pride in his 3 beautiful daughters.

JF has a real passion for physiotherapy and is a thourough, empathetic and available clinician.  Come see him !
