Biography

B.Sc. P.T., M.Sc.(A) P.T.

Erica is a McGill University graduate, who obtained both her Bachelor's degree in physiotherapy with a Distinction award and her Master's of sciences applied degree in physiotherapy with The Sandra Perlman Memorial prize.

She also obtained her diploma from Université de Montréal in the "Microprogramme en Rééducation périnéale et pelvienne" (Pelvic Floor rehabilitation Program). She's a member of "L'Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec" (OPPQ) and has been practicing since 2011.

She has a particular interest in manual therapy; therapeutic exercises prescription, motor control exercises and Pelvic Floor rehabilitation.

Erica completed many post graduated continuing education courses: Level 3 in Manual therapy courses from the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA); Level A&B from the Robin McKenzie approach for treatment of lower back, neck and thoracic region; and a variety of courses in Evidence based rehabilitation guidelines, Motor Control exercises, Neuromuscular and Sensorimotor function rehabilitation courses from SMARTRehab. Therefore, she has acquired the skills and knowledge to treat the following conditions: Cervical and Upper extremity dysfunction; headache, concussion and Temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction; Thoracic, lumbar and Lower extremity dysfunction; Pelvic floor dysfunction; and sports injuries.

Erica has also developed a main practice in pelvic floor rehabilitation that is a physical therapy approach for dysfunctions in the pelvic region and muscles around the genitals and anus. She rehabilitates these particular dysfunctions in women and men: urinary dysfunction (incontinence or voiding dysfunction); Low grade pelvic organs prolapse; Dyspareunia (pain with sexual intercourse); Pelvic chronic pain syndrome (PCPPS); Pain and neuralgia in the perineal and pelvic area; Ano-rectal dysfunction (pain, incontinence, constipation); symptoms in the pelvic area arising from pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, or from urology/gynecology/obstetric/oncology surgeries that a physician will refer for rehabilitation.

Erica has interests for resistance/weight training, tennis, running, swimming, Yoga, Social and Latin dances, and piano.
