Biography

Who is Vanessa

I am a Certified Athletic Therapist passionate about helping people move better, prevent injuries, and recover effectively. I believe in a patient-centered approach that combines manual therapy and personalized exercises to address the root cause of discomfort and support overall well-being. My goal is to help each person feel more capable, confident, and comfortable in their daily movement and sports.

I’ve worked with a wide range of patients, from the general population to varsity athletes, gaining hands-on clinical experience in a private clinic and field experience with football, hockey, rugby, soccer, basketball, and volleyball.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through recreational soccer and hiking, while also spending quality time with friends and family.

Training and professional skills

I graduated from Concordia University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Health, Kinesiology, and Applied Physiology, specializing in Athletic Therapy. I am a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) and Corporation des thérapeutes du sport du Québec (CTSQ). In 2024, I joined the Action Sport Physio team as a physiotherapist assistant while completing my degree. I am now continuing my studies in Osteopathy to enhance my skills in manual therapy and provide a holistic approach to long-term health and recovery.

Here is an overview of my certifications :

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) : Trained to provide essential emergency care for patients in clinical and sports settings.
  • Sports First Responder (SFR) : Trained to assess and manage on-field injuries across various sports.
