Biography

Who is Sofia?

I am a physiotherapy technologist with a deep passion for movement in all its forms. Outside the clinic, I am a competitive dancer (in Latin styles mainly, but many more as well) and I cross train with many different methods (strength training, pilates, yoga, etc). My life has always revolved around understanding what the body can do, pushing its limits, and celebrating its resilience. That same energy is what I bring to my work every day. I believe that behind every injury is a person who wants to get back to something they love, and helping them find their way back is what drives me. Whether my clients are athletes, weekend warriors, or simply people who want to move through life with ease, I meet them where they are and help them get where they want to go.

Training and professional skills

I obtained my degree in Physiotherapy Technology from Dawson College in 2020. Since then, I have focused my practice in the field of orthopedics, which I am deeply passionate about for its direct connection to movement, function, quality of life or training. This allows me to offer targeted, evidence-based care to clients recovering from an injury.

Here is an overview of my certifications:

Yoga Teacher Training (2020-2021): A comprehensive yoga teacher certification, including types like Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga.

McKenzie Part A Certification (2023): A certification on the McKenzie method, a movement based method that is particularly known for lower back injuries, even though it can be used to treat other body parts as well.
