Biography

Who is Philippe-Olivier Gagné?

Sports are an integral part of my daily life and play a key role in maintaining my balance, both personally and professionally. Passionate about triathlon, dek hockey, and alpine skiing, I had the honor of representing my discipline at the Triathlon World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in 2017.

Outside of sports, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hiking with my daughter. Traveling also holds a special place among my interests, as does gardening, which allows me to channel my energy and cultivate patience. A devoted Montreal Canadiens fan, I’m always up for discussing their latest performances!

Through my passions, I bring energy, balance, and motivation to my patients, inspiring them to adopt an active and fulfilling lifestyle.

Education and Professional Skills

I completed my Master’s degree in Physiotherapy with an entrepreneurial profile at Université Laval in 2022. Since January 2023, I have been practicing as a physiotherapist at Action Sport Physio. During my academic journey, I had the opportunity to complete internships in both public and private healthcare settings, allowing me to work with a diverse range of patients and develop a broad set of skills—making me a well-rounded professional who is always eager to learn more.

I hold authorization to prescribe X-rays when clinical criteria are met. In 2024, I expanded my knowledge of fascia release techniques by completing the “Structural Myofascial Therapy – Level 1” training. In 2025, I earned a certification from La Clinique du Coureur, enabling me to assess and treat running-related injuries.

Here is an overview of my certifications:

  • X-ray Prescription (2022): Authorization to prescribe radiographs when a fracture is suspected following a traumatic event that occurred within the past 72 hours.
  • Structural Myofascial Therapy – Level 1 (2024): Training in manual therapy techniques aimed at releasing fascial restrictions to treat various musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Fundamentals of Running Injuries – La Clinique du Coureur (2025): Assessment of a runner’s gait biomechanics and specific treatment approaches for running-related injuries.

“The only bad workout is the one you don’t do.”

Perfection is not the goal—consistency is what truly matters. Every effort brings you closer to your objectives. Moving forward, one step at a time, is always better than standing still.
