Biography
Who is Patricia?
First and foremost, I am the mother of an active 11-year-old boy. Together, we spend most of our time in arenas and on soccer fields, sharing his passion for sports and team spirit.
Personally, I am athletic and passionate about movement. I have been fortunate to play a wide variety of sports over the years, often at competitive levels. These include dek hockey, ice hockey, ringette, soccer, cheerleading, and even motocross. These experiences have allowed me to develop discipline, rigor, and a deep understanding of the body in motion.
Outside of sports, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family. Moments of discovery and togetherness are what nourish my personal balance.
Education and professional skills
I have been a physical therapist since graduating from the University of Ottawa in 2006. Wanting to further my knowledge, I continued my studies with a master's degree in physical activity, which I completed in 2008. That same year marked the beginning of my professional career at Action Sport Physio, a company that shares my values of excellence and human service.
Today, I own three Action Sport Physio clinics: Valleyfield, L'Île-Perrot, and Saint-Eustache. I continue my clinical practice while ensuring the quality of care and patient satisfaction in each of our teams. My role allows me to combine my passion for physiotherapy, management, and the development of teams dedicated to the health and well-being of the community.
Throughout my career, I have pursued several specialized training courses to enrich my knowledge and offer increasingly targeted and effective treatments to my patients.
Here is an overview of my certifications:
- McKenzie Approach – Lumbar Spine: Training focused on the assessment and treatment of low back pain using the McKenzie method, aimed at promoting patient autonomy and preventing recurrence.
- Back Health Program: Comprehensive, turnkey training for the management of low back pain.
- Assessment and Treatment of Running Injuries – Runner's Clinic: In-depth training on the biomechanics of running and strategies for preventing and treating common injuries in runners.
- Treatment of Frozen Shoulder: In-depth study of manual techniques and rehabilitation protocols to improve shoulder mobility and function.
- Pediatric physiotherapy training: Torticollis and plagiocephaly, delayed motor development, atypical movement on the ground and when walking, integrative pediatric manual therapy, physical literacy, etc. This training provides a comprehensive approach tailored to the needs of children of all ages.
- Perineal and pelvic rehabilitation: Training courses on the treatment of urinary incontinence in women, peripartum care, and the involvement of the pelvic floor in women's running.
- Vestibular rehabilitation (basic training): Specialization in the management of balance disorders and vertigo of vestibular origin.
- Assessment and treatment of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ): Training in the management of jaw pain and dysfunction, often linked to postural or muscular disorders.
- Prescription of radiological examinations in physical therapy: Recognized training allowing me to prescribe certain medical imaging examinations in order to optimize clinical management.
- And more...
Always thirsty for knowledge, I am inspired by the variety of continuing education courses offered in physical therapy. I have been fortunate to develop my practice according to my areas of interest throughout my career. However, I remain convinced that it is my human and caring approach that ensures comprehensive care for my clients.
They don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care!
