Biography

Who is Maya?

I am a D.O. osteopath, and my practice is entirely dedicated to supporting babies, children, and adolescents from birth to age 17. Before turning to osteopathy, I earned a bachelor's degree in microbiology and immunology and worked for several years in public health research at the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), where I participated in various scientific projects and publications. This experience allowed me to develop a deep understanding of biological mechanisms as well as a strong scientific rigor.

Over time, I felt the desire to move closer to direct care and human connection. Osteopathy then emerged as a natural path. Today, I use this dual approach—scientific and clinical—to support children and their development. I place great importance on listening to families, carefully observing the body, and respectfully guiding each child at their own pace.

Professional Training and Skills

I am a graduate in osteopathy (D.O.) and have focused my practice on pediatric osteopathy, working with children from birth to adolescence. My background in microbiology and immunology, combined with my research experience at the INSPQ (National Institute of Public Health of Quebec), has profoundly influenced my practice by integrating a solid scientific foundation into my clinical reasoning. Throughout my practice, I have developed a particular interest in children's motor development, postural balance, and supporting families through the different stages of growth. I regularly pursue continuing education to deepen my knowledge in the pediatric field.

Here is an overview of my certifications:

• Pediatric and Perinatal Osteopathy: assessment and support of infants and children.

• Motor Development of Infants and Children: understanding the key stages of development.

• Osteopathic approach to cranial asymmetries: assessment and monitoring of plagiocephaly and brachycephaly.

• Neurodevelopmental approach and primitive reflexes: impact of reflexes on motor and postural development.

• Osteopathic care during pregnancy and postpartum: support for mother and baby.

I firmly believe that the body has a great capacity for adaptation when its rhythm and development are respected.
