Kneegraphy

What is kneegraphy? Are you a potential candidate for kneegraphy? How can it help you reduce your knee pain?

The answers to those questions are right here!

In fact, our therapists at the clinic are trained and certified to use kneegraphy effectively and will guide you in the analysis of the results.

What is kneegraphy?

Kneegraphy is performed with the KneeKG system, which is attached to the knee, and consists of a clinical examination of the knee on a tredmill. In fact, it accurately and objectively evaluates the complete movement of the knee to help therapists understand the cause of pain and symptoms. It provides biomechanical markers of the knee in order to bring out data on dynamic alignment and to detect mechanical deficits. Kneegraphy allows the therapist to analyze knee movements and thus joint function, and aims to provide a report on exercises adapted to the patient's condition.

The advantage of kneegraphy is that it informs the therapist on the state of the knee in movement and when you are leaning on it. It is therefore a complementary tool to static imaging techniques, such as X-rays and magnetic resonance, which provide information on the state of the bones and soft tissues in static.

Are you a potential candidate for kneegraphy?

Knee arthritis, ligament or meniscus injuries, patellofemoral syndrome, knee pain when walking or climbing stairs. It can also help patients with knee pain who have had anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) or meniscus surgery, and even those who have a total knee replacement (TKR).

But be careful! There are certain contraindications to knee testing, meaning that you would not be a good candidate for this dynamic test. Not being able to walk on a treadmill for 5 to 10 minutes without standing on the support bars at a comfortable speed, because of a significant balance problem, a significant limp when walking, a recent knee trauma or the use of a technical walking aid (cane, walker, orthosis).

How can it help you reduce your knee pain?

Following the analysis of the results, the Emovi platform immediately gives suggestions to your therapist so that he or she can establish the best treatment plan for you, in order to correct the elements that are related to your symptoms. A personalized exercise program adapted to your condition will be taught to you and given to you at the end of the appointment!
