Biography
Who is Joëlle ?
My name is Joëlle, and I am a physiotherapist by training, with a lifelong passion for sports. My journey began on the soccer fields, first as a player, then as a coach. A knee injury led me to discover physiotherapy, and I made it my career. Today, I am a mother of two and co-founded the Action Sport Physio clinic in Blainville with my partner in 2018. I am committed to offering personalized and compassionate care to each of my patients. In my free time, I recharge in nature: hiking, climbing, running, and of course, a few soccer games whenever the opportunity arises.
Education and Professional Skills
I obtained my Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Montreal in 2010, with a research project focused on sports injury prevention. I started my career at Action Sport Physio in Laval, where I had the opportunity to work with many sports teams (soccer, football, running). Since 2020, I have also developed expertise in perineal rehabilitation, helping women with pelvic pain, urinary disorders, or pregnancy follow-up. I continuously pursue further training to improve the quality of my interventions, always with the same passion for health and movement.
Here is an overview of my training:
- Manual Therapy Level 1 and 2 – AQPMO: Advanced joint mobilization techniques.
- Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Physiotherapy: Specialized approach for jaw pain.
- Cranio-cervical Myofascial Approaches: Treatment for head and neck tension and pain.
- Shoulder Rehabilitation: Management of complex shoulder injuries.
- Perineal Rehabilitation (since 2020): Follow-up for pelvic pain, urinary disorders, and pregnancy.
- Running – Blaise Dubois: Biomechanical principles and injury prevention for runners.
