Biography

Who is Joël?
Early in my life, I realized that we are taught very little about how to truly take care of ourselves. This led me to dedicate my work to finding ways to integrate healthy habits into the reality of our busy modern lives. Along this journey, I quickly discovered that many people live with physical and mental pain without clear solutions. Having gone through my own path of overcoming suffering, I committed myself fully to specializing in chronic pain and mental health. My mission is simple: to help as many people as possible achieve a greater sense of well-being. Kinesiology is the science of movement. Movement is present in our aspirations, our motivation, our emotions, and our everyday lives. It is a powerful force that shapes our well-being.

Education and professional expertise
I am a kinesiologist who graduated from the Université de Montréal in 2020. I am a member of the Fédération des kinésiologues du Québec (FKQ) and the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance (CKA). Throughout my professional journey, I have had the opportunity to work alongside experts in healthy aging, motivational interviewing, and cancer care at the CHUM. I am also certified by the Institut de kinésiologie du Québec as a chronic pain rehabilitation practitioner. I continue to pursue ongoing training in order to stay at the forefront of effective approaches to pain management.

Here is an overview of my certifications:
Kinesiologist – Université de Montréal (2020): Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and professional affiliation with the Fédération des kinésiologues du Québec (FKQ) and the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance (CKA).
Certified Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Practitioner – Institut de kinésiologie du Québec (2021): Specialized training on chronic pain mechanisms and strategies that support a gradual return to movement.
Oncology – Fondation Virage / CHUM (2019–2020): Training in adapted physical activity for individuals before treatment, during treatment, and in cancer remission.
K-Taping Therapy (2024): Use of therapeutic taping to support muscular and joint function and assist the rehabilitation process.
