Biography

Who is Alessia?

I’m a physiotherapist who has grown within the Action Sport Physio team, first joining as a physiotherapist’s assistant while completing my studies. I’m passionate about helping people overcome injuries and return to the activities that matter most to them. I find great fulfillment in supporting patients through meaningful milestones in their health journey, especially during important life transitions. Building trust and providing compassionate, individualized care are at the heart of my approach.

Training and professional skills

I earned my Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McGill University in 2019 and am a licensed physiotherapist with the OPPQ. I joined Action Sport Physio in 2017 and began working as a licensed physiotherapist upon graduation. My clinical experience includes orthopaedic rehabilitation, vestibular therapy, pelvic floor physiotherapy, and pre- and post-natal care, with a strong focus on evidence-based treatment.

Here is an overview of my certifications:

  • The Physical Therapy Approach for Dyspareunia: Assessment and treatment of pelvic pain to improve comfort and function.
  • Special Considerations for Caesarean Section: Preparing for and Recovering from Belly Birth: Guidance for safe recovery and return to function following a C-section.
  • Fundamental Concepts in Perinatal Physiotherapy Through Pregnancy, Delivery and Beyond: Physiotherapy care supporting women through pregnancy, childbirth, and post-partum recovery.
  • The Physical Therapy Assessment of Breastfeeding-Related Conditions (Maternal and Infant Factors): Evaluation and management of breastfeeding-related musculoskeletal concerns affecting both parent and infant.
  • Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Comprehensive Introduction & Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation: Assessment and treatment of dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders.
  • TMJ Anatomy and Pathology: Occlusal Stability and a Myofascial Approach: Evaluation and treatment of temporomandibular joint dysfunction using a myofascial-based approach.

“I’m passionate about helping my patients feel strong, confident, and supported as they work toward their health and activity goals.”
