Biography
Who is Catherine ?
I'm a physiotherapist and I've always been passionate about how the human body works. With an athletic older brother and father, I played almost every sport during my childhood and adolescence. Among other things, I played ice hockey for a dozen years and practised flag-football and speed kayaking for several others. I'm also a passionate traveller and foodie. My goal in physiotherapy is to educate my patients about their issues, to help them reclaim their bodies with confidence, and to enable them to do whatever they want.
Training and professional skills
As a new graduate of the Master's program in physiotherapy at the Université de Sherbrooke in the spring of 2024, I aim to offer my patients a warm and welcoming environment. My target clientele are athletes needing a return to play or with any musculoskeletal problem such as a fracture, sprain or pain in various joints, and pelvic and perineal rehabilitation patients (urinary incontinence, prolapse, pain during sexual relations and/or perineum, etc.). Finally, I also treat pediatric problems such as torticollis, plagiocephaly and minor motor delays.
Here is an overview of my certifications:
- Sports First Responder (Canadian Red Cross): Practical, specialized training to intervene quickly and effectively in sports-related medical emergencies.
- Physiotherapeutic approach to dyspareunia (Uro-Santé)
- Microprogramme de 2e cycle en rééducation périnéale et pelvienne (Université de Montréal, in progress): An advanced training program for physiotherapists, focusing on the evaluation and treatment of pelvic and perineal dysfunction using an evidence-based approach.
