Biography
Who is Julia?
I am a physiotherapist who genuinely loves helping people move better and feel more confident in their everyday lives. I’m best known for my bubbly and energetic personality that follows me wherever I go. I’ve been part of the Action Sport Physio RDP team since 2016, starting as a receptionist and assistant before growing into my current role. I’ve been here since the beginning because I truly love the supportive, positive vibe of this clinic. Outside of the clinic, I’ve been coaching figure skating for over 10 years, which has shaped my strong interest in rehabilitation for ice sports. I’m an avid reader, I love spending as much time outdoors as possible, and I enjoy traveling whenever I get the chance.
Training and professional skills
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from McGill University that I completed in 2019; followed by a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from McGill University in 2020. I have a strong interest in pelvic floor physical therapy and women’s health. I treat conditions involving perineal re-education both pre- and post-partum, incontinence and prolapse. I take great pride in this work, as it allows me to support women regaining confidence in their bodies. I also enjoy treating sports injuries, particularly those involving ice sports. My extensive experience as a Skate Canada coach allows me to bring a unique perspective to rehabilitation in this area.
Here is an overview of my certifications:
- The Physical Therapy Approach for Dyspareunia: Assessment and treatment of pelvic pain to improve comfort and function.
- Fundamental Concepts in Perinatal Physiotherapy Through Pregnancy, Delivery and Beyond: Physiotherapy care supporting women through pregnancy, childbirth, and post-partum recovery.
- Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Comprehensive Introduction & Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation: Assessment and treatment of dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders.
