Biography

Certified athletic therapist, member of the CTSQ, Bachelor of Exercise Science with distinction. Sports first responder and fourth year osteopathy student at the Quebec Osteopathic Center.

Émilie graduated from Concordia University and passed the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association (CATA) national certification exam in 2019. To refine her skills in assessing musculoskeletal conditions and developing treatment plans, she also began her studies in osteopathy at the Quebec Osteopathy Center (COQ).

During her studies at Concordia University, Emilie worked with athletes from the Vanier and John Abbott Colleges. She also worked in a private training center, which allowed her to follow several elite athletes from the treatment table to the gym, and back to practicing their sport. Since graduation, Emilie has worked with the football and hockey teams of Jean XXIII College in Dorval as well as with the Midget AAA hockey team ‘’The Lac-Saint-Louis Tigers’’. She is currently in her fourth year of osteopathy at the Quebec Osteopathic Center (COQ) which allows her to combine her interest in fitness and adapted physical rehabilitation with manual therapy. She began working for a private physiotherapy and osteopathy clinic in 2019 to put into practice her growing treatment knowledge. She is involved with the RSEQ where she covers regional events including track and field, rugby, cheerleading and gymnastics competitions. Dynamic and curious, she enjoys working for the advancement of Athletic Therapy, all the while focusing on offering her patients an osteopathic treatment approach.

As an elite soccer player Emilie suffered several concussions which were unfortunately mismanaged. This negatively impacted her prospects as an athlete as well as her quality of life. She quickly realized that there was a need to improve concussion management and followed continued education in the field under the mentorship of the founder of Vertex Commotion in Laval. She is particularly interested in the rehabilitation of concussed athletes by means of exercise, cranial work, and vestibular re-education.

In 2022, she joined the Action Sport Physio team where she now works at the National Circus School as a sports therapist as well as in the Westmount clinic to offer private patients athletic therapy treatments with osteopathic approach.
